• Our Farmyard Animals

   

  Kent life is a 28-acre working farm. Our free-range livestock includes sheep, cattle, pigs, horses, donkeys, goats, poultry, rabbits, guinea pigs, ferrets, ducks, geese and birds.

   

   

  • Most of our sheep, cattle and pigs produce high quality showing and free range food stock.
  • Our donkeys, goats, ferrets, rabbit’s and guinea pigs have are all rescue animals from both local and overseas charities.
  • Whenever possible we rear traditional Kentish breeds such as our Red Sussex cattle and Saddleback pigs.
  • Some of our animals participate in our entertainment activities; this not only helps teach you about the care and welfare of our animals but it also enriches their lifestyle.
  • You can adopt most of our animals and your contribution will help towards their welfare, feed and housing.

  Did you know...?

  • Our Southdown sheep are referred to as 'Teddy Bears' because of their soft curly wool and flat faces
  • Many of our animals are adopted from the RSPCA
  • Some of our pigs are experienced footballers!
  • Our ferrets could run up to 40 MPH!
  • Our male turkey think pushchairs are female turkeys!
  • If you clap your hands and say 'bed time' our chickens will go to their coop where they are kept over night .

• Young Farmers Club

  Cobtree Young Farmers Club 

  The Cobtree Young Farmers Club is a mixed group aged between 10 and 23 years, all with a common interest: their interest in animals.

  The Young Farmers meet every Saturday and learn about general animal husbandry for all our farmyard animals, in particular cattle, sheep and pigs.

   

  Cobtree Young Farmers Club is one of 30 clubs that make up the Kent Federation of Young Farmers Clubs and throughout the year many opportunities arise for members to participate in activities both competitive and social.

  The main event in the Cobtree Young Farmers calendar is the Kent County Show, where members show the Kent Life livestock, invariably returning with an impressive collection of rosettes and certificates.
