Keeping Healthy at Kent Life

Here at Kent Life we want you to enjoy your time with our wonderful farm animals.

Our friendly creatures are very healthy and happy, however, there are a few simple steps that you need to take when you come to visit us.

  • If you are under 16, please stay with a grown up. They know all the boring bits about keeping safe and happy.
  • If you touch our animals or their homes, make sure you wash your hands thoroughly afterwards. We have lots of squirty soap for you to use all around Kent Life. If you can’t find any, ask a member of our helpful staff .
  • Our animals are very lovable, but resist the urge to give them a kiss. It isn’t very hygienic and it won’t taste very nice…
  • Sucking your thumb is sooo last year. Fingers, pens, pencils and crayons are also best avoided.
  • Resist the urge to try the animal feed. It is specially designed to make their noses wet and their tails curly, not the best look for boys and girls.
  • You can put as much human food or drink into your mouth as you like. Just make sure you clean your hands before and after your scrummy snacks.
  • Only eat in designated eating areas. Cheese and pickle sandwiches lose their wonderful flavour if chewed too near the pig pen.
  • Our animals are very house- proud. Do not climb onto the walls or into their pens as they will get very upset and you will get very dirty.
  • Although you may like mud, it is best not to take it home with you. Save your mum’s temper (and her carpet!) and bring a pair of wellies.

As you walk around Kent Life, you will notice lots of people wearing our brand new ‘I’ve washed my hands’ stickers. To make sure you get yours, wash your hands and show them to a member of staff (hint: look out for a bright orange shirt).

Tea room & Coffee Bar
  • The Tea Room & Coffee Bar cater for most requirements, e.g. morning coffee, light lunches, a selection of tea and coffee, delicious cakes and nibbles and much more.
  • Bottle warming and small jars or magic pot warming facilities are also available.
  • We are licensed to sell Kent Ale, cider and wines.
Safe Guarding your Children
  • All children under the age of 16 years must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
  • Kent Life is not responsible for any person(s) attending our attraction.
Health & Safety
  • Kent Life is a rural site interpreting the 19th and early 20th centuries living and working. Some of the paths have uneven surfaces and some of the doors may be low so please take care.
